PTFE has many outstanding physical, chemical and electrical properties which make it invaluable to industry today. The most important are: resistance to practically every known chemical and solvent, extreme temperature tolerance, lowest known coefficient of friction for solid, non-toxic, easy to machined, low flammability, moderate cost.

Solid PTFE can be used machined, turning, shaping, stamping, extrusions, sheets, packings etc.

For extrusion of PTFE, can be used sintered or unsintered:
- sintered: a full range of sintered PTFE extrusion is available in lengths up to two metres, depending on the size and complexity of the profile required
- unsintered: tapes and cords are extruded from specially prepared forms of PTFE by the addition of lubricants.

To improve specific properties, the PTFE can be added in different percentages, in raw material stage: glass fibre, bronze, graphite, molybdenum disulphide, ceramics and more.
